After struggling enough trying to use our regular home sewing machine to make patio furniture cover and repair backpacks, I decided to invest in a walking foot machine before embarking on an auto upholstery repair project.

I was able to pick up a Consew 166r for $600 today. Machine was just serviced and I spoke with the repair tech about it and he gave it a thumbs up.

It's an older model, so I can't find any info on it other than a parts book. It has what I assume is the original 1/3 HP clutch motor. I was OK at feathering it, but think I need to slow it down. I blew most of my budget on the machine, so I think a servo motor is out of the question for now. It looks to have a pretty small pulley on the motor. I'll measure it later, but I'd say it's likely no more than about 2" in diameter.

Is it possible to change the pully on the head to reduce the speed?

Any tips or suggestions are appreciated. Excited to get started using it!

Thanks, I appreciate the information.
