I have been working on Marine Canvas for a few years and first time working on Bolsters. Let me add its just a hobby for my own stuff and friends.

1. I want to add 1/2 foam as existing bolsters are compressed quite a bit. I would do this with spray glue. Looking for foam suggestions??

2. They have plastic silk wrapping the entire bolster foam and looking like it was held on the back with basting tape. If this typical and any better way to help waterproof?

The bolders will have mesh on the bottoms for any water that gets behind vinyl.

Gluing foam together is fine. I used 3M super 77 to glue 1/4' on top of 1/2' to redo the side panels of my boat as I just couldn't source 3/4" which is what was there when new.

The silk film is also I quess pretty standard. Sailrite does it in many of there instructional videos.
