I'm working on the base of the helm seat, which is the final piece. Its colors are white/green and I've been thinking of a design to match up to the backrest portion that I just completed (White/Purple/Pink).

Here is what I have come up with for the base.

I did run out of the white vinyl, so I have some on order. I think the total project is using 30 yards of 54" wide vinyl.

I completed the helm seat base yesterday . . . lots of stitching on this one.

Here it is. . .

And here are the 3 pieces of the helm seat loosely fitted together.

So, that completes the vinyl work. Now I need to transport all of these pieces to the boat and get them installed. It will probably take a day or 2 to install everything. I saved all the hardware, but usually there are a few issues putting things back together vs. how they came apart. I know fastening the helm seat back together will be a bit interesting

I did not shop it around, but guessing it would have been about $4-5K for the vinyl work, not including the re-build of the rotted base boards and frames (maybe $1K for that). Then there is the canvas work, which may have been another $2K . . . So, maybe $8K all together

I was about $3,500 total, including the sewing machine.
