Man that is strange. Sucks to think you have to compensate for it every time you turn it on. Might be an internal adjustment that can be made but i have never cracked one open.

The dacron will be compressed inside the skin. Dont add it to your dimensions, it just adds fullness.

Your limitations with that machine will include needle and thread size, stitch length, the amount of material will fit under the foot and stitch irregularities. That machine will make stitches but with many compromises. Sewing-Machine-Buyers-Guide.pdf Check out @John 's buyers guide on the lucky nee...

If you were to turn it off after it happened, and then turn it right back on, does the same issue re occur? Or is it just that first run of the day no matter how many times you turn it off/on? Peek under the table next time you are expecting it and see if you can tell if it's a "return to zero&...

You are correct about the lineage. Differences will be minor, reverse lever size and shape and a different hand wheel are the most obvious. Capabilities are the same. Great old machines

There is a return spring on the control lever under the table right where the pedal shaft is connected. There should be 2 or 3 notches on the lever, see if you can slide the spring to a tighter notch.

Just depends on what you'll be doing more of. Sure there are seams from time to time that would be easier with a cylinder arm or post bed but i personally have gotten by with a flat bed for all of my needs and i suspect your flat work might be more difficult. Not to discount them, if you need one yo...

@Lissaner , the consew 206 is probably the most popular upholstery class machine ever made. Well documented and easy to find parts and attachments.

Don't do it, they are designed with a specific foot height in mind. You'll create issues with your walk and even if it worked you'd most likely have to readjust every time you had a thinner stack. There is an adjustment but it is meant to set it to a certain spec. Just under a half inch sounds about...

That bar on top is the leaf spring i referenced, its for foot pressure rather than having a coil spring around the presser bar. Measure the height from needle plate to bottom of the foot, should be 11mm, if its more i bet its just in a bind. Reference @John's diagram and try tapping it down.

What was going on when this happened? Were you sewing and raised the lever and it wont come down? Was it being transported and found this to be the case when it reached the destination? And is it the model with or without the big leaf spring on the top of the machine?

So the dial on the servo limits the top speed. Turn clockwise to go slower. The dials are usually poorly calibrated so turning all the way down to 350 rpm's may actually be zero rpm's. If that is the case turn counter clockwise one click at a time until it engages. If it is still too fast, the addit...

What size thread and needle are you using? Did it jam at any point? Have you played with bobbin tension? Checked hook timing? It seems like a lot to ask of that type of machine, how many layers and how are they stacked? Sorry for all the questions, just want to get the whole picture.

Hmmm...well, in my scenario, the foot would go down once you tapped the pedal whether toe or heel. Not seen one try to stitch with the foot up. Are you sure the foot lift lever in the down position? When you power on foot will raise electronically and remain up for a set amount of time. If you tried...

Doesn't try to sew with the foot up does it? Give the pedal a quick tap after you turn it on and see if it doesn't go down. Have not used the automated juki's but with Mitsubishi and Consew you can set the foot to be always up or always down when you let off the foot pedal just like with needle posi...
