If the airbag was cut out then no liabilty issues and I would do the same.
@MalcolmM All I can say is that I will never touch the seam and have done insert replacements for friends who are well aware the calibration of the seat on the cushion will be altered. I in no way would do any airbag seam sewing.

The time it takes now may not really improve leaps and bounds when you are doing one offs. I have a project on the bench that will be as you say educational.

@Rhonda, what are you using the leather for? There is a member on here I have bought hides from and I have been very happy. I have also bought leather from Muirhead and it is best to use what you need for your project.
Yes that pattern is off, take apart and redo.
@Cale , how is the new fabricator sewing for you? Much different than the Consew?
@Rhonda , I am not sure on the 211 after reading that the 111 is better. I just dont know sewing machine confusion.
@Ironhorse2022 , I agree with Adam12 I own an old Singer 111 and use it a lot for all jobs. I think the machine sews as good as anything I have used.
@Ironhorse2022 , I am working on a project right now that ended up as a DIY. Boat upholstery can be miserable enough as it is but trying to sew it with a domestic machine will be a nightmare. @ChapelWorx , and sometimes it is sensible. I do not know much about that stuff but have a technician I refer people too.
